July 4th Celebrations at Betty and Denny's

We drove to Valders, WI on Sunday to celebrate the beginning of July and spend some time with the Ellestad side of the family. Betty and Denny were wonderful hosts and had the perfect set up for a hot summer day... lots of yummy food, beverages, plenty of shade and of course the pond!

It is obvious that a lot of time and effort goes into this pond - it is beautiful!

Grandpa Ted and the kids had a ball together as usual!
They spent most of the afternoon  paddling around, catching frogs and giggling together :)

The boys were on catching duty (the lake is stocked with tadpoles) so the frogs are in abundence and I think used to being caught by the grandchildren!
Grandpa Ted and Claire were in charge of keeping them in the back of the paddle boat --- they often attempted to escape, but Ted would grab their legs before they got too far!

I think they might have hit a new record with the number of swimmers at one time
--- floaties galore for kids young and young at heart!

Jeff and Joe definitely had a great time relaxing as well.

We also got to spend some quality time with Grandma Ellestad.  She had a shady spot on the deck with a nice breeze for most of the afternoon. We hope this day becomes an annual tradition!

Here are the Ellestad siblings with Grandma E.

Thanks again Betty and Denny for hosting such a fun day!
