Time with Grandma and Grandpa

We went to Fond du Lac last Friday in preparation for Patrick competing in the Elkhart Lake triathlon on Saturday. It was the perfect night to sit outside for a backyard dinner with Grandma and Grandpa!

After dinner James got to explore the back yard -
we found a turtle and some fish - and the dock was a big hit!

This past weekend was Walleye weekend so we could also hear the music from the festival grounds - dinner and a show - fantastic!

They caught me snapping photos!

Grandpa threw a line in with some worms and James enjoyed watching the worms try to escape!

Saturday we were able to take the boat out on Lake Winnebago.
This was both mine and James' first time on Grandpa's boat.
It was a great day for it and again given the Walleye weekend festivities - we had lots of entertainment!

The lighthouse on the South end of the lake.

Walleye Weekend Strong man competition --- if you look really close - you can see some guys pulling a car around a track - lots of cheers from the crowd with every loop!

James and Grandma sharing a snack up front.
Grandma had fruit snacks and James was in heaven!
Also check out James sporting Grandpa's hat!

The guys hanging out in the back of the boat!

James and Patrick hanging off the back looking for fish!

James in a way back seat - perfect size for him :)

And checking out the steering wheel with Grandpa.
It was a great relaxing trip - one I am sure will be repeated many times in the future!

And a photo of Ted and Carol's house from the water --- I have taken many pictures from the house looking into the water - but this was the first from the other perspective.

Ted can put the boat in and the public launch and then cruise over on the back waters of the lake to park at the house. This was especially nice for us this weekend given that the fishing contest was finishing up for the day and the boat launch line was a little crowded!

Thanks for a fun stay Grandma and Grandpa!
