Cousin "twins" !

So as many of you know - along with anxiously awaiting Isaac's arrival - we were also anticipating the birth of our newest niece or nephew --- Jeff and Jenny's first child.
We had many similarities through our pregnancies - same due date, same day appointments, same progress at appointments, same nights with false labors, etc. So we were not at all surprised to hear that we were in labor on the same day as well!
Leo Daniel Ellestad was born just over 12 hours after Isaac (early the next morning - so they do have different birthdays) at the hospital down the street. We were actually able to see their hospital from our room after Isaac was born.

I think Patrick even texted Jeff that we could see them while we were waiting for the news!

We also had a lovely view of the Capitol.

So there have been a a lot of things already that I have attributed to "second child" syndrome - including us leaving the hospital. This time, we couldn't wait to be released Friday morning so we could drive over to Meriter and meet Leo!
I remember when James was born we drove straight home - hands at 10 and 2 - me in the back seat ready to dive over the car seat in the event of a crash, etc.
This time - we drove 3 blocks down the street and marched into the family care suites at the competitor hospital to meet our nephew!

When we got there and they saw Isaac for the first time - Jen laughed and said that they had the same going home from the hospital outfit for Leo! --- such a small world!
Of course we needed a photo!

Proud Daddy picture!

These kids are gonna be buds for sure!

We also got a big laugh when leaving Meriter after the visit - understandably so, we got stopped a few times with 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' at the new baby leaving the hospital - but what made me laugh the most was the nurse at the elevators that sorta freaked out and wanted to know what room we were checking out of and looked super concerned that she was not aware that one of her patients was leaving. Good to know both hospitals have great security measures for the babies - and I guess given the fact that the Dads look so similar - I am glad we were able to leave as easily as we did!
