So given that the Swenson family was all at the cottage for the holiday weekend and that we will be on vacation next week with the whole Ellestad family - Isaac is getting TWO birthday parties this year!
We celebrated his birthday at the cottage with the Pearl Lake families on the 3rd and had a terrific time!
We set up a hat/ crown making station for the kids...
The babies were hot and cold about wearing them...

James was happy to wear his and bellied up to the relish dish for endless pickles and olives.

We had little jello shooters --- fancy layered ones for the kids and
solid colored alcohol filled ones for the adults. In hindsight, I should
have made MORE of the adult ones and not spent so much time on the kid
ones! (Next year!)

Post dinner we had an impromptu game of whiffle ball.
It was a blast!
(Patrick and Ed volunteered to clean up, which was a lovely gift in itself. Give them some space, some old records and a fresh brewski --- they were happy and did a great job!)
