Summer Weekend in Madison

Despite the possibility of showings, we decided to stay home last weekend and enjoy all that Madison has to offer in the summer. We went strawberry picking Saturday morning at an awesome farm in Oregon. Patrick used to go as a kid, but it was a first for me and the boys.

We were assigned a row and worked our way down picking (and eating) as we went!

The man in the row next to us and I kept laughing at the conversation between James and Patrick... "I eat this one Daddy?" - "Okay James, but that is the LAST one for a little bit..." 30 seconds later, "I eat this one Daddy?" --- and on and on!

It sounds like this is how picking works, especially when the season is almost over!

Isaac was pretty patient (shocking I know!) until we made the mistake of giving him a taste...

Then he was quick to want out of the stroller and in on the action!

Couldn't shovel them in fast enough!

Yummmmmm!

James with our loot!

Next we went down to the Farmer's Market to get some other fresh items for dinner.
We veered off onto the Capitol lawn about half way through - too crowded with the stroller and the boys were ready for Monster Cookies and some playtime.
Isaac is walking like crazy now --- taking off towards the sunshine!

After naps we went to the Knapps for a BBQ.

The kids had a picnic on the deck --- all of their plates were filled with strawberries, which as you can see were the first things eaten.

Isaac was a strawberry mess!

These kids were climbing all over the place - glad to have them contained to the deck, until they started climbing UP!

Macey says, "who me?!?"

Sunday we did haVe some showings so we ran some errands and then headed to Mt. Horeb for some playtime with Jeff, Jenny and Leo.

Leo is super steady and walking everywhere!

James and Isaac showing him how to wrestle!

Leo went in to give James a zerbert --- and Isaac decided to add to the pile!

After dinner we walked to the park --- the boys playing basketball.

Everyone gets a shot...

And our little monkey "hanging" from the rim...
If you look closely - no one is holding on to anything in this picture!
Good thing Daddy is fast :)
