Michigan weekend!

We combined a trip to Michigan City for an Ellestad Family wedding with a trip to see the Ruble family and it worked out great (minus the summer construction traffic on both ends of the trip of course!)

Saturday morning we all went to watch Jojo play tee ball (Lisa is one of the coaches too).
James is just starting tee ball so we were excited to have him see Jojo in action.

I think Jojo enjoyed the audience!

There was a lot of hat switching during the game...

And a lot of rough hugging

These two are pretty crazy!

Love this one!

Does Mattawon (?) need some baseball field spokespeople? Too cute in their baseball hats (though I guess they might want to Photoshop the Brewers t-shirt :)

Patrick and I went to the wdding for most of Saturday. It was a beautiful hot and windy day - so the Ellestad clan found a rooftop bar for cocktails!

Some of the Ellestad cousins -- :)

Selfie outside the reception

Ellestad siblings!

Sunday was hot again - so the slip n' slide came out.

Two silly ginger boys!

These two are buds too!

So cute!

So weird!

It ALWAYS rains!!!!

So far this summer Patrick and Eric have done some pretty cool, potentially "once in a lifetime" kind of things --- and while they had an awesome time at both events --- the comment that stuck out to me was --- "Every time we do something cool.... it RAINS!"

Patrick and Eric went to the Cubs Brewers game earlier this spring and enjoyed some of their own batting practice at a local establishment prior to the game.

As you already know - it was a rainy day - but that didn't stop the fun :)

This was Eric's first Cubs game - a gift from Patrick for Christmas.

Happy guys!

Merry Christmas Eric :)

Then last week - the guys went to Erin Hills for the US Open.
again, a little rain never hurt anyone!?!?

Them being there made it more fun to watch the golf this weekend, because Patrick could point out things they had seen.

Plus there were opportunities to get a little closer to the golfers on a practice day.

And definitely less crowded!

Here's hoping next time there is something totally awesome to do - these guys get some sun!

Memorial day weekend 2017

We are always so excited to get summer started at Pearl Lake - so a 3 day weekend at the cottage was awesome for all of us!

The water is chilly - but they didn't seem to mind

James got a new fishing pole this year with a hook!

This kid could run all day --- up and down the pier.
We are taking bets on not IF, but "when and where" he falls into the water this summer.
Good thing he likes his life jacket!

Fishing with Daddy

First catch of the year!

Isaac and Daddy reeling one in!
Notice the concentration (tongue!)

Success!

Both boys ended up swimming at one point or another - though it was cool!

Driving the boat

James was a little more consistent than Isaac

Grammy and Isaac snuggling on the porch in their jammies

Now this guy actually went swimming --- I took the kayak and my camera.

It was so lovely and peaceful

They laid down on their own on a post lunch cruise --- they didn't stay there long :)

Inaugural Big Mable ride!

James is now an official train engineer - he knows how to run the trains better than I do :)

Favorite picture from the weekend --- it was the end of the video - so it is just a screen shot - but I just love their joy :)
Welcome Summer!
