IRONMAN weekend!

Well after months and months of training - IRONMAN weekend officially arrived!

Friday night there was an athlete and family dinner at the Monona Terrace. It was great to see all the racers and supporters and hear the inspiring stories that this year's race had to share.
Athletes came from all 50 states and 16 countries.
Madison boasts one of the toughest bike courses in the Ironman world - many repeat racers expect to add almost 1 hour to their overall time due to the hills, twists and turns of the bike course.
Athletes ranged from 18 - 73 years old with almost half entering as first time competitors!

Dinner included RP pasta --- yummmm!

After the meal we went outside to check out the finish line... you can tell these guys were ready to race!

Pretty sure this is the closest Anne, Connie and I will EVER get to actually crossing the finish line :)
