4th of July weekend at the cottage

We spent last weekend at the cottage and even though July 4th wasn't until Tuesday, we celebrated all weekend - as did the rest of the lake!

So I was a rock collector as a kid and apparently I have passed that gene down to James.  I have started enforcing the rule my parents put on me --- you can only take home what you can carry!!!!
Fortunately for Buppa, most of the rocks James finds and "HAS to keep" are on the beach area, so Jame and Buppa are happy guys!

There is a new addition at the cottage - a water basketball hoop.
Very fun!

Corey was trying to convince Isaac to lay down and take a rest on the boat (something all of us adults would love to do!) I think they laid there long enough for me to snap the photo!

The boys went for a few Mabel rides --- love having those big cousins to take them :)

Jeff and Jenny, Leo and Parker joined us Saturday afternoon and the boys were pumped to play!
Leo took a turn driving the boat with Buppa.

Boat rides that don't include a swim in the middle of the lake sometimes get a little long for this wild child. Thankfully, Grammy had photos to show for entertainment.

Cousin hugs

The Rhyans organized their firework spectacular for Saturday night and once again outdid themselves.  A few more families have contributed to the fun and the show was awesome!

That's a lot of fuses!

Sunday morning was a rainy - so we headed to the train shed.

Isaac is very excited because he gets to run Thomas the Train by himself (or as he says it: I do it myCHELF") when he is 3. Just a few more days!

This is the latest addition to the train table. I had a ski chalet and the ski hill as part of holiday decorations when I was younger and we have since decided they would be better served year-round at the cottage.  Buppa worked to create a ski bridge to connect the two and they are now permanently part of the train set! Doesn't it look great?!?

The skies cleared and we had an awesome Sunday.
Leo is just as much of a fish as our boys!

Lots of jumping and swimming!

Parker had a great time watching them all run back and forth.

So the 4th of July weekend is ALWAYS super busy, and this weekend was no different.
Patrick took me skiing and then we traded and in between it got even busier. There were so many boats that I ended up having to dump him in the other lake and the traffic and the waves were so heavy I couldn't get the boat to get up to speed to get him back up on the skies.
Charlie was waiting on the pier to throw Patrick a beverage upon return - so since he wasn't skiing anymore, he jumped out of the boat to catch it instead.
Corey caught this great action shot!

Hey - it's the 4th of July in case you didn't know... :)

And we are all pretty joyful about it!

Leo joy!

The waves were so big, the kids could sit on the shore and get knocked over... they thought it was awesome!

Mr. Parker was a trooper - and so cute!

Jimmy was testing out someone's goggles - he loved that he could see underwater.

Relaxing on the boat. Now this is summer!
